LONG ISLAND ELITE ANNOUNCES WILLIAM J. CORBETT, JR. MEMBER OF THE YEAR

           Long Island Elite (LIE) is pleased to announce William J. Corbett, Jr. recipient of its Member of the Year Award for his dedication to the group and the community. Mr. Corbett is the President of Corbett Public Relations, Inc., a leading professional public relations, marketing and governmental relations firm based in Floral Park, NY. The firm provides services to small, medium and large business, professional firms and not-for-profit organizations in the New York metropolitan area and across the nation.

          Founded in 2002, the Long Island Elite is an organization dedicated to fostering growth and development of Long Island’s business professionals under the age of 40, the region’s emerging business leaders. Mr. Corbett, a committed member of LIE for five years, has developed and managed hundreds of public relations programs, special events and publicity campaigns for his clients.

      After receiving the award Mr. Corbett said, “The LIE is a unique group that fosters camaraderie as well as mutual support. I am committed to the group and helping my fellow colleagues. I share this award with the people in my office and my wonderful wife, Laura, who is a constant supporter of my efforts to help others. It is truly a great honor to be recognized by your peers”.

  In 2002 Long Island Business News named him one of the Top 40 Business Professionals under the age of 40. Newsday recognized him as one of the “Five People to Watch” in the public relations profession.

        Mr. Corbett is a graduate of Marist College and earned a Master’s Degree in Environmental Management from Long Island University. He is a member of the Board of Directors of The Marty Lyons Foundation and the Core Committee of the Long Island Fight For Charity.

Family Residences and Essential Enterprises, Inc. Names Information Center at Saddle Rock Ranch in Honor of the Long Island Elite

Old Bethpage, NY, October 6, 2006 -- At a dedication ceremony on September 28, 2006, Family Residences and Essential Enterprises, Inc. (FREE) named its Information Center at Saddle Rock Ranch in honor of the Long Island Elite (LIE) in recognition of their generous support of the agency’s innovative programs for individuals with disabilities. The LIE donated $20,000 to FREE to help support the agency’s educational, residential, recreational, personal development and other essential programs that enable individuals with disabilities to reach their human potential and lead rewarding, productive lives. The LIE is an organization dedicated to mentoring young executives under 40 years old and teaching them the importance of community stewardship. Saddle Rock Ranch in Middle Island, New York is one of an extensive network of programs in Nassau and Suffolk counties offered by FREE to help individuals with developmental disabilities and/or mental illness or traumatic brain injury improve their quality of life, freedom and integration into the community with dignity.

The Long Island Elite Information Center at Saddle Rock Ranch is the greeting center for individuals who visit the ranch for day programs, therapeutic and general riding lessons, horse boarding or inquiries about other vital programs offered by FREE at the ranch.  Saddle Rock Ranch is a 14 ½ acre working ranch and day program that offers a broad spectrum of enriched educational, recreational, leisure and therapeutic activities. Therapeutic riding, pet therapy, horse grooming, animal care, agriculture and skills developed within a bed and breakfast setting are offered to individuals with disabilities.

Members of the Long Island Elite, local elected officials and FREE executives joined together to launch the
LIE Information Center during a ribbon cutting ceremony to recognize the important partnership between the business community and the not-for-profit sector.

Suozzi Addresses Young Executives
At Meeting of ‘Long Island Elite’

Nassau County Executive Thomas Suozzi spoke on the current state of the region’s economy at a March 26 general meeting of Long Island Elite (LIE), a leading networking group for under-40 business executives.

The meeting was held at the new headquarters of Family Residences and Essential Enterprises (FREE), one of the region’s leading non-profit agencies serving people with mental illness and developmental disabilities, in Old Bethpage.

Mr. Suozzi discussed a number of recent positive trends in the County’s economy and management, including improvements in its bond rating, the reduction of its debt service, and better management of the physical plant of County buildings. He also commended the audience of approximately 100 on their commitment to improving the quality of life in their community. In addition to providing networking and mentorship, LIE’s membership is dedicated to raising both funds and awareness for locally based not-for-profit organizations.

“We were honored to have the County Executive at our meeting and we greatly appreciated his thoughtful and informative comments,” LIE President Dawn Strain said. “We were also very pleased to tour the new headquarters of FREE, an organization we are proud to support, and to learn more about how this group is reaching out to help its neighbors with a variety of disabilities.”
